The same as a lot of companies, we have to purchase large quantities of bubble wrap and other packaging materials to ensure our goods are protected well during transit.

In August 2008 we came up with a scheme to buy other companies' rubbish.  We sent out leaflets to local businesses to buy shredded paper, used bubble wrap, shrink wrap and cardboard and offered to pay them £1 per 5kg they brought up to our warehouse.

The scheme has gone really well and in the last 2 months we have managed to reduce our carbon footprint by recycling the packaging.  Not only this but we've also cut our packaging costs dramatically, meaning we don't have to charge our customers too much for deliveries.
